Welcome to the last newsletter of the year! I’ve been pretty busy with school, but there’s still been space for story adventures.
Writing
In November, I visited my elementary school to talk to the Grade 7 classes about poetry, the author life, and publishing. It was something I had always dreamed of doing since I was writing my first novel in Grade 7. I hope one day I can go back again and visit when I have a novel published.
“How Waiting Shapes Us for The Better” was published on Reclaim Today this week! It's a reflection on surrender in the writing life and in the Christian life.

"Technology's Good Side" was published in Love is Moving! Amidst all the AI panic of 2023, this was one of my favourite articles of the year: a hopeful look at technology.

And finally, two more devotionals published in Unlocked!
“Thriving in Exile.” November 21, 2023. https://unlocked.org/podcast/thriving-in-exile/
“God’s Art Gallery.” November 26, 2023. https://unlocked.org/podcast/gods-art-gallery/
Photography
I loved my photography class this semester and really leaned into experimenting with more macro and still life. My final project, a series of collaged photos of lichen, is one of my favourite things I’ve created with a camera.
It was a super exciting two months as a Redeemer student photographer too: I had the opportunity to photograph a Rend Collective and Elias Dummer concert, among many other events.

What I'm Watching
A lot of people are watching a lot of cheesy Christmas movies this time of year. Tonight, I watched Klaus on Netflix for the second time, and I think it has secured its spot as my favourite feature-length Christmas movie. It's refreshingly different from other holiday movies and has some of the most stunning animation I've seen.
That's all for 2023! See you next year, and have a wonderful Christmas.
