It's been a busy past few months, especially going back to school for my final year at Redeemer University!
I have been a part of several exciting events at Redeemer in September. Here are some highlights:
Photographing events including the gallery opening and book launch for Josh and Zac Tiessen's Vanitas + Viriditas painting series and soundtrack album
Sharing about my writing and photography at the Art Unveiled Community Showcase
Presenting my paper entitled "The Stories are True: The Lord of the Rings, The Wingfeather Saga, and the Role of the Christian Fantasy Author" at the Tolkien conference, A Flame Imperishable: The Christian Legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien
I'm looking forward to a comparably quiet October!
Publishing
I also had a short story and two poems published over the past few months:
"Tanya and the Rollercoaster" in Resilient Magazine: https://www.muskokabible.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/MBC-Resilient-Magazine-Fall-2024.pdf
"Love Like Eagles" in Love is Moving: https://loveismoving.ca/2024/07/02/love-like-eagles/
"Accidental Birdwatching" on Blue Marble Review: https://bluemarblereview.com/accidental-birdwatching/
Story Recommendations
I'm reading through Watership Down for the first time. It’s quite interesting so far and I’m impressed by the sheer enormity of the book.
Next on my book queue is rereading The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier. It's an equally creepy and thought-provoking story perfect for fall!
That's all for today! See you in December! Enjoy some Muskoka summer nature photos below! :)
